National guarantee

The National Guarantee Scheme is a key guarantee programme designed to support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises

The National Guarantee Programme helps sole traders and small and medium-sized enterprises to secure more favourable terms and facilitate access to external financing for both investment and operating expenditure. Its aim is to support the effective and strategic development of businesses and their financing.

The National Guarantee can be used for a wide range of purposes, from the acquisition and refurbishment of fixed assets, property, buildings, machinery, production lines and technology, through the financing of operating expenses and the purchase of stock, to the long-term management of stock control.

Applications are being accepted from 18 December 2025.

Ongoing and long-term financing of operating costs, stock levels,
stock management, and other areas

What the NRB’s national guarantee will enable you to do

Gain access to more favourable terms for business development funding
A reduction in the collateral requirements for commercial loans from lending banks
To increase the total amount of funding that you would not have been able to secure without this guarantee
A more favourable final interest rate thanks to additional collateral from the NRB
